The CEO of Island Water Technologies Inc. was a guest speaker at this year’s Ontario On-site Wastewater Association annual conference.
In a presentation entitled “Enabling Technologies for Decentralized Wastewater Treatment” Dr. Kiely carried out a review of some of the leading pre-commercial wastewater treatment technologies in academia and industry. The end-result is a suggested a path forward for the industry in developing future septic systems that would have added functionality and performance.
The septic system of the future should be capable of:
– Improved removal of contaminants of emerging concern
– Self-powered operation
– Remote system monitoring and control
